Affordable Art: Giclee On Canvas Prints
|
About Giclée On Canvas Prints
Many famous museums have purchased Giclées for their permanent collections -- The Metropolitan Museum (N.Y.), The Guggenheim (N.Y.), Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and The Smithsonian Institute (D.C.), to name just a few.
In the art market, a Giclée On Canvas Print usually brings a significant premium over those printed on fine art paper.
The term Giclée (pronounced 'Zee-clay') refers to fine art print reproductions made with Museum-Quality inks and canvas. Giclée printing produces high-quality, rich colors and detail in the tradition of stone lithography.
Facts About John Doggett's
Giclée On Canvas Prints:
During the printing process of our Giclées, a series of tiny spray nozzles emits millions of droplets per second. Because of the way the drops are sprayed and mixed using a 12-color pigmented ink system, you get a wider range of color than almost any other type of print available on the market.
Museum-Quality means our inks are pigment-based (not dye-based) which makes them archival standard: fade-resistant, acid-free and long-lasting. The canvas used for Giclée prints at John Doggett Fine Art is heavy-weight and also museum quality.
To create Giclée prints that are true fine art reproductions, we digitially scan the original painting -- a two- to three-hour process depending on the complexity of the artwork. The results are far superior to posters and mass-produced, off-set art prints, which are often recreated from a photo.
John works with a local printer of fine art reproductions and approves his prints in person to assure colors and tones match the original. John selected this company because they also reproduce the fine art prints sold in the gift shops of leading art museums nationwide.
From casual to seasoned art collectors, Giclée on canvas prints offer an affordable source for enriching one's life with fine art.
